A story of courageous choices
Established in year 1983 by its founder, Alberto Toscano, as distributor of BASF chemicals for leather in Southern Italy, since year 2005 CHIME has become the exclusive distributor of BASF for Italy by organizing its structure through branches in the main Italian tanning districts.
Since year 2017, following the acquisition by Stahl Europe BV of BASF's leather sector, the company has continued its distribution business as a partner in Italy of the Dutch multinational.
2001
Starting from year 2001, begins to market Formic Acid through the construction of an innovative and fully automated storage system, which determined the acquirer of further market shares.
2006
It takes over two companies, which allows it to expand the range of products treated, consolidating its presence in the basic chemical industry.
2013
The company has improved the existing production facilities and application laboratories with the set-up of an analysis and quality control laboratory as a further valid support to the technical and commercial service provided in the various chemical sectors of competence.
2015
During the years, while analyzing the change in marketing flows and in the aim to enhance the skills developed, Chime expanded and diversified its commercial offer by merging and developing an international trading organization, with operational expertise, commercial and distribution skills. The aim is to provide a complete portfolio of products in various industries such as Food, Oeno, Nutraceuticals, Natural Products, Detergents, Water Treatment and Industrial Chemistry in general.
Moreover the competence and know-how acquired in the handling and management of dangerous products has led CHIME to be one of the few industrial companies in Campania to fall under the “SEVESO” legislation for companies at risk of a major accident.
The continuous work, professionalism and dynamism of its organization materialized during years to the centralization of IT, administrative, logistic and R&D infrastructures through the creation of a group of skills which are functional to the business of CHIME but which operate independently in their respective areas of competence.
